Document types
The engine does not know which industry a document came from.
It knows a measured value and the requirement that governs it. What differs between these four is where the values sit on the page and what they are called — not how they are judged.
CMM dimensional reports
First-article and in-process dimensional inspection, twenty or more characteristics against a drawing's callouts.
Mill test reports
Chemistry and mechanicals against the material specification, including per-specimen rules for a set of bars.
Hardness surveys
Sour-service limits under NACE MR0175, where a single reading over the maximum is the whole finding.
NDE / NDT results
Stated outcomes rather than numbers — graded as an attribute against what the specification accepts.
